Governor David Paterson called the New York State Legislature together on Monday to tell them that New York State will be out of money by Christmas.  Whoops! I guess out of control spending and financial mismanagement has consequences, huh.

"We're going to run out of cash in four and a half weeks. We are going to run out of money. Unless we do something about it, (it will) threaten generations," Paterson said.  Yes, if the State goes broke, it would be bad. Thanks for the nugget of wisdom, Mr. Magoo!

Paterson said we need to enact $3.2 billion in cuts immediately...or else!  When asked if we should cut subsidies or grants, Paterson laughed and said, hell no! We're gonna cut the budgets of schools and hospitals!
